I have been attending since LibertyCon 29 held at the Chattanooga Choo-Choo in 2016. My friend Neal and I went and had a great time. Other than being caught in an absolutely torrential downpour one night when we were trying to get back from dinner.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it this year, which makes me sad.
But I have a good reason, I promise! LibertyCon is June 21-23 this year, and my wife and I are expecting our third child that week! Given that momentous event, I bowed out from this year’s Con.
I’ve always thought of LibertyCon as my ‘home con’ as it was the first one I ever went to. I used to live in Huntsville, Alabama and would drive up to Chattanooga for the weekend. Even after moving to Pittsburgh this was an important event for me each summer. Particularly because it was the first place I ever got an ‘Author’ tag.
I’m disappointed to miss it this year, but I know there’s a lot of great programming that people will enjoy, including a number of my AlphaMercs brethren. Even though I won’t be there in person, you can likely get physical copies of my work from the lovely folks at Raconteur Press, Chris Kennedy Publishing, and Three Ravens Press.
If you’re attending, enjoy the Con and I’ll see you next time!
I mean, a bummer except for having babies. Congratulations!
We’ll miss you! But we’ll be back next year, and we hope to meet the new little one then! Congrats!
